Former Atlanta Falcons player, Derek Rackley, has transitioned from professional football to becoming a financial advisor at GER Loftin Wealth Advisors in Johns Creek. Rackley leads the firm’s business development efforts and assists clients in achieving financial well-being. “Money matters can create a lot of anxiety for people,” he stated. “We work hard to alleviate financial concerns for our clients and give them confidence in their financial future.”

Rackley promotes the “SWAN” approach, or Sleep Well at Night, thereby highlighting the importance of comprehensive financial planning. He noted, “It may sound overly simple, but many people don’t have a full financial plan. It’s not enough to have a 401(k) and Social Security. You need to have a personalized plan that takes into account the full picture — your goals, resources, debt, investments, taxes. The plan needs to be implemented, monitored and adjusted as things change.”

At GER Loftin, Rackley is in charge of forming strategic alliances with experts in fields such as insurance, accounting, and estate planning, ensuring clients have the resources they need. Furthermore, he is actively involved in community outreach and education, conducting financial literacy and retirement planning workshops at local colleges. “These topics aren’t taught in most schools, yet people are expected to know them,” Rackley said. “We’re passionate about giving back to the community by educating people on personal finance and talking with students who may have an interest in pursuing the financial field.”

Rackley’s financial advising is enriched by his experience as an entrepreneur. He and his wife co-own AMRACK Fitness, a boutique gym in Buford, where Rackley gained experience in business management. “I understand the pressures of running a business and know what’s involved in mapping out a sustainable financial plan,” he stated.

As a new member of the Chairman’s Club, Rackley has found value in meeting with high-level executives and business owners in Gwinnett. “This is an incredible forum where you speak directly with high-level executives and business owners who are well connected throughout Gwinnett,” Rackley remarked. “The events are enjoyable and purposeful — people come ready to talk business. I’ve been impressed by everyone’s willingness to be open and share insights.”

Since his move to Gwinnett County in 2000, Rackley has witnessed the area’s development into a business and community center. While he remains connected to the sports sector through broadcasting, Rackley’s primary focus lies in assisting people and businesses in Gwinnett reach their financial objectives. “Gwinnett is an ideal place to build a business and raise a family. Everything you need — from infrastructure and jobs to fine dining and entertainment — is right here in the county,” he added.
