State Representative Matt Reeves expressed his approval as Governor Kemp signed House Bill 579 into law. The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Reeves, aims to reform Georgia’s professional licensing procedures. The signing took place at the State Capitol with both officials present.
“I was proud to stand with Gov. Kemp as he signed House Bill 579 into law today to cut government red tape and create greater efficiency in our state’s professional licensing process,” stated Rep. Reeves. He emphasized the bill’s potential impact on numerous professionals in fields such as nursing, cosmetology, plumbing, occupational and physical therapy by facilitating their ability to practice in Georgia. “By making it easier for hard-working Georgians to obtain or renew their professional licenses, we will fuel our state’s workforce and ease regulatory burdens on our citizens.”
The legislation is designed to expedite compliant license applications and enable licensing boards to better address misconduct issues and assess workforce needs across the state.
