The Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) at Georgia Tech has opened a new office in Gwinnett County, located within the Gwinnett Chamber building. The official opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 21, 2025. This new location aims to improve access to GaMEP’s services for manufacturers and supply chain companies in the region.

Bryan Weaver, Regional Manager for East Metro Atlanta, highlighted the significance of this move: “GaMEP has a long history of working with companies across Gwinnett and East Metro. Establishing a local office in Gwinnett enables us to serve businesses more efficiently by being embedded in the heart of the community and adjacent to key economic development partners.”

The decision to open an office in this newly renovated space follows a $6 million investment by the Gwinnett Chamber to modernize its headquarters. The facility is now a central hub for business leaders and stakeholders in Duluth. GaMEP joins other organizations such as Leadership Gwinnett, the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia, and United Way of Greater Atlanta.

As part of Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute and the national Manufacturing Extension Partnership network, GaMEP offers solutions in leadership development, process improvement, technology integration, and energy management. These services are designed to help Georgia manufacturers enhance productivity and compete globally.

Nick Masino, President and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett, stated: “Having a recognized leader like GaMEP and Georgia Tech here in Gwinnett strengthens the foundations we have built for manufacturing and supply chain companies in the greater Gwinnett region.”

Kevin Carmichael, Senior Vice President of Partnership Gwinnett, added that “Gwinnett continues to serve as a major contributor to Georgia’s industrial economy with more than 800 manufacturing firms in the community.” He emphasized that GaMEP’s presence will support local economic development efforts.
