The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it will conduct a live, multi-agency active shooter training exercise on Saturday, December 13, 2025. As a result, the front lobby of the Sheriff’s Office will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and the main entrance on Reynolds Road leading into Wimberly Way will also be inaccessible during this period.

According to the announcement, “This proactive initiative is part of a coordinated effort among multiple agencies in Gwinnett County to enhance preparedness, improve response times, and strengthen collaboration during critical incidents. This will be a realistic training exercise; however, the Sheriff’s Office assures the community that it is only temporary.”

Officials emphasized that access to emergency services will not be affected by this closure. Community members who need immediate assistance or law enforcement support are instructed to dial 911. For non-emergency tips, individuals can call 770.619.6655 or visit GwinnettCountySheriff.org.
