State Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth), who serves as chairman of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Insurance Rates, will be available to speak with media ahead of the committee’s first hearing scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2025. The initial media session will be held virtually at 8:45 a.m., followed by an in-person availability at 9:20 a.m. in the third-floor south alcove of the Georgia State Capitol.

“This is the first of five State House hearings in which we are looking for ways to make insurance more affordable for hardworking Georgians,” said Chairman Reeves.

The study committee meeting itself is set to begin at 10 a.m. in room 341 of the Georgia State Capitol. Additional information about attending or streaming the meeting can be found through official state channels.

Representative Jon G. Burns, a Republican who was elected to represent Georgia’s 159th House District in 2005, has served since replacing Ray Holland.

Those interested in joining the virtual media availability can do so via Zoom on Thursday morning.
