Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry received a $25,000 check that came from proceeds of the 2021 Gimme Shelter Benefit Concert.
Main Street Grayson, Chelsea Gardens Landscape Management, Inc. and Moonshiners – Grayson present the organization the check raised through sponsors and concertgoers of the event headlined by Drivin 'N Crying, the City of Grayson said in its newsletter.
The city said sponsors included Dalton Discount Floors and More, Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, Stone Mountain Ice, Susan Kliesen- RE/MAX Center, Perry Eidson, Bodyplex Grayson, CrossFit Grayson, Precision Planning Inc., Beverage SuperStore of Grayson, Gwinnett Rental, Mr. Transmission – Snellville, McDonald's, #LeilaStrong, #Faithup as well as an anonymous donor and each ticket holder.
Mayor Allison Wilkerson and Grayson City Council recognized the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry's Lashawn Alford and Laura Drake for their efforts stepping up for those in need in the city, the newsletter said.
Chelsea Gardens Landscape Management Inc. was the presenting sponsor, the newsletter said.
Located in Grayson, the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry’s mission is to assist local households facing financial issues by offering help to secure life’s basics. This includes food pantry and non-food assistance, and also can assist with utilities and prescription costs, its website said.
