Call for Municipal Election & Notice of Qualifying

City of Sugar Hill issued the following announcement on July 21.

Notice is hereby given that an Election will be held in the City of Sugar Hill, Georgia, on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., at  Sugar Hill City Hall, 5039 West Broad Street, Sugar Hill, Georgia.  The election is to fill the office of Mayor currently held by Steve Edwards, City Council seat Post #4 currently held by Nic Greene, City Council seat Post #5 currently held by Taylor Anderson. 

The Council Posts serve the citizens at large but the candidate must declare which post they are running for upon qualification.  Candidates must pay a Qualifying fee at the time of qualification which is $162.00 for Mayor and $108.00 for City Council.  Qualifying will begin on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. and run until Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 4:30 p.m.  Qualifying will be held at City Hall, 5039 West Broad, Sugar Hill, Georgia, in the office of the City Clerk Jane Whittington, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily. 

You must reside within the City limits of Sugar Hill to vote in this election, and all such electors are encouraged to participate.  The last day to register to vote in this election is October 4, 2021.  Registration forms are available in the office of the City Clerk at City Hall, the Gwinnett County Elections Office and the website of the Georgia Secretary of State.
