Notice of City of Buford General Municipal Election

Noticee

City of Buford recently issued the following announcement.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-1 et seq. and all other applicable Georgia laws, please be advised that on November 2, 2021, a general municipal election will be held in the City of Buford, Georgia, at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of said City for their determination the expired term of City Commissioner, Post 2 (to succeed L. Chris Burge); City Commissioner, Post 3 (to succeed Bradley W. Weeks); School Board Member (to succeed Bruce Fricks); School Board Member (to succeed Pat Pirkle).

The election shall be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, between the hours of 7:00 o'clock a.m. and 7:00 o'clock p.m. in the City of Buford.  The voting polls shall be opened for advance, in person voting on October 12, 2021 through October 29, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 16, 2021 and Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Buford City Hall, 2300 Buford Highway, Buford, Georgia.  

All duly qualified electors of the City of Buford are urged to participate.  Those qualified to vote at said election shall be determined in all respects in accordance and in conformity with the laws of the State of Georgia.

Those interested in qualifying for said offices should be advised that the respective qualification period shall run from Monday, August 16, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. through Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at Buford City Hall.  Qualification will close at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.  Individuals intending to qualify shall remit the sum of $35.00.

The registration deadline to vote in this election shall close at 5:00 p.m., October 4, 2021.

A run-off election, if necessary, shall be held on November 30, 2021.
