The family of Tori Lang, a Gwinnett teen who was found shot to death under a tree in Stone Mountain in July, is seeking answers and closure as they mourn the death of their child.
The family fears that the killer may have taken advantage of her open and kind personality, though details about the killer have yet to be discovered, according to WSB-TV.
“We know for a fact in this particular situation, all of the wrong people got wind of her caring spirit. A good-hearted spirit can be a double-edged sword because it can be used for good and evil. Individuals with bad intentions could use that,” Torrey Lang, the teen’s father, told WSB-TV.
Tori Lang's 2012 Nissan Versa, which police found roughly five miles from the park, had been burned, police confirmed to Oxygen.
Police said Lang’s murder was unrelated to the murder of Katherine Janness, 40, and her dog, in Piedmont Park, Oxygen reported.
“All of the sudden nobody knows nothing, nobody seen or talked to her. And you know, wow, that bothers me,” Torrey Lang told WSB-TV.
Information is still being taken and anyone with leads may call GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300, or Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477 or visit the Atlanta police Crime Stoppers page.
