Matt Ryan, who ran the triple option when he played quarterback at William Penn Charter High School in Philadelphia, has a little over 1,000 yards on the ground now in his 14th season in the NFL. It might be surprising for some, especially the ones who have seen him as the pocket passer throughout his career with the Falcons, accprding to a team news release.
"I've always moved better than people think, It's not great but it's good enough. I feel comfortable doing those kinds of things," Ryan said in the release.
Ryan has thrown 4,000 yards in the last 10 seasons, and on Sunday, he became the NFL's all-time passing leader.
He said that he has been working on his speed in the off-season, and thus it didn't come as a surprise to him when he scored on a zone read on Sunday, the release said.
Ryan also mentioned that for the upcoming game against the Giants, the Falcons need to continue to do what they have been doing, him included, the release said.
