Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is offering a $1,500 hiring incentive to paraprofessionals and an extra $500 for those who can provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination, according to an announcement on Communique.
Qualified new hires on or after June 7 will receive their bonus for serving one complete school year in 2021-22.
'SHINE as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom," GCPS announced on Twitter, "New paraprofessional can qualify for a hiring incentive of $1,500 and an additional $500 with proof of COVID-19 vaccination.’’
The annual salary range for full-time employees is approximately $16,930 - $36,280, according the announcement on Communique.
Part-time positions are also available, offering benefits and on-the-job training.
To qualify for the paraprofessional position, applicants must submit an online application and either possess an associate's degree or higher, two or more years of college study from an accredited institution or university or possess a high school diploma/GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
