Hefty Energy Bag Update: Not Accepted in Norcross

Updtae

City of Norcross issued the following announcement on October 11.

Hefty Energy Bag Update: Not Accepted in Norcross

UPDATE: The city's waste collection vendor, Waste Management, has confirmed that the new orange Hefty Energy Bags ARE NOT accepted curbside. As many are aware, this is an evolving situation but at this time please DO NOT BAG recyclables, regardless of bag type.

Original Post on 9/29/21:

Hefty has rolled out the Energy Bag program without discussing in-depth with most jurisdictions in the metro area. The situation continues to evolve across the city and the county, as Waste Management, local MRFs and dropoff sites evaluate if they can handle the volume of material the program could produce. City staff remain in contact with each party to stay up to date on any new developments. We cannot guarantee at this time that bags will be picked up if filled and set out. However, we will notify residents as soon as there are clear guidelines.
