It has been a long road to the top for Kyle Pitts, the star tight end for the Atlanta Falcons, and this past week was a great time for reflection for a player who has striven to meet expectations and reach for the top since he entered the league as a number four pick in the NFL draft last year.

Pitts was coming off a huge game against the New York Jets where the Falcons came out on top 27-20. He was one of the key factors with nine catches for 119 yards, to go along with a touchdown during the game that took place in London, England.

“Preparation, that's something that'll help you win," Pitts said to atlantafalcons.com. "I feel like everything correlates from home the way you come out here and prepare in the morning before practice. After practicing, just take care of your body.”

This was the best game of Pitts’ young career, as he scored his first touchdown of the season after four games trying to find his footing the Falcon system. After the breakout game, Pitts has tallied 24 catches for 308 yards going into the bye week.

During the week off he spent his time relaxing and trying to get his mind off the gridiron. According to atlantafalcons.com, Pitts hung out with his girlfriend, went bowling and had “water ice” from an Atlanta food truck. Water ice is similar to sorbet, and a staple in his hometown of Philadelphia.

Pitts played three seasons with the University of Florida where he was a standout tight end of 32 games. In his junior season with the Gators he caught 43 passes for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns in eight games, which earned him a first-team All-American nod.
