City of Norcross recently issued the following announcement.
The city is now accepting applications for the Planning & Zoning Board, Downtown Development Authority and Norcross Public Arts Commission.
The Planning & Zoning Board makes recommendations to the City Council on rezoning applications, special use permits and changes to the city’s Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Please note, residency in Norcross is a requirement of this position.
The Downtown Development Authority is dedicated to the development, growth and preservation of business in Downtown Norcross and works to advance projects. They meet on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.
The Norcross Public Arts Commission is responsible for cultivating a growing, creative arts community in Norcross and advising the city regarding arts and culture matters. They meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Please contact City Clerk Monique Lang (monique.lang@norcrossga.net) to submit your application to serve. You can learn more, including meeting days, missions and lists of other citizens serving on each board and commission on the city website under the City Government tab.
Applications are due Thursday, January 20th. Download application here. Applicants who have applied within the previous two years do not have to reapply. If you are seeking reappointment, please use this application.
