City of Sugar Hill recently issued the following announcement.

The Eagle Theatre’s $2 Tuesdays series continues in 2022 with some of the best films to date!

The Events/Theatre Staff gave us some tips on how to choose the best seat in the house. 

Choosing your seat is the most important part of watching a movie, but it varies depending on what you love most about a film.

• Love hearing the clear but subtle background sounds of a scene like a train whistle or footsteps? Sit at the back of the house closest to the surround-sound speakers and feel the rumble in your feet.
• Want to be transported into the movie and feel like the characters are speaking directly to you? The front row is calling your name.
• Have an eye for detail? Sit in the balcony to soak in the full screen while surrounded by the theatre’s art deco design.

“Bridget Jones’s Diary” (R): Bridget Jones is determined to improve herself while she looks for love in a year in which she keeps a personal diary.

Feb. 8

“The Help” (PG-13): An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African American maids’ point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis.

“Knives Out” (PG-13): A detective investigates the death of a patriarch of an eccentric, combative family.

“Jungle Cruise” (PG-13): Based on Disneyland’s theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles but with a supernatural element.

“Cruella” (PG-13): A live-action prequel feature film following a young Cruella de Vil.

Aug. 8

“Soul” (PG): After landing the gig of a lifetime, a New York jazz pianist suddenly finds himself trapped in a strange land between Earth and the afterlife.

Sept. 13

“The Phantom of the Opera” (PG-13): A young soprano becomes the obsession of a disfigured and murderous musical genius who lives beneath the Paris Opéra House.

Oct. 11

“Monster House” (PG): Three teens discover that their neighbor’s house is really a living, breathing, scary monster.

Nov. 8

“The Wizard of Oz” (G): Young Dorothy Gale and her dog are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz, and embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard, who can return her to her home and fulfill the others’ wishes.

Dec. 13

“The Santa Clause” (PG): When a man inadvertently makes Santa fall off of his roof on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place.
