In an effort to bolster their offensive line, the Atlanta Falcons have signed offensive lineman Rashaad Coward to a reserve-future deal.
"We have signed Rashaad Coward to a reserve/futures contract," the Falcons said on Twitter.
Coward spent two seasons playing with the Chicago Bears beginning in 2019, starting 15 games, Steelers Now reported. He was present for every offensive snap that took place between weeks 6 and 10.
Last offseason, Coward was taken up by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent, Steelers Now reported. At the end of the training camp, he was released in a roster-management procedure, after which he was signed back to the active roster. On Oct. 12, he was released.
He spent some time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, then on Nov. 23 came back to the Steelers as part of the practice squad. Throughout the rest of the season, he was taken into the active roster on several occasions, Steelers Now reported.
Coward played defensive linemen at Old Dominion before converting to offensive line at the NFL level, The Falcoholic reported.
Coward recorded 198 snaps at left guard and a total of 133 snaps at right tackle, Sports Illustrated reported.
