The Atlanta Falcons recently announced that the team's director of pro personnel, Steve Sabo, is moving on after he and the Falcons decided it was time for a change.
"After 12 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, I am looking to the future as Terry Fontenot and I have mutually decided it's time for a new opportunity," Sabo said in an article on the Falcons' website.
Sabo spent time as a scout who was responsible for various geographical regions before he moved up, the Falcons reported. He was part of the scouting team that was responsible for identifying a few late-round picks, including Grady Jarrett, Russell Gage and Foye Oluokun, who ended up filling crucial roles for the team.
"I've been fortunate to fill a variety of roles on both the college and pro sides for the organization, from area scout to director of college scouting to director of player personnel and pro director, and I am grateful for that," Sabo said.
During his tenure, the Falcons advanced to postseason play several times, peaking in 2017 when they made it to the Super Bowl, the Falcons reported.
