Lifelong Atlanta Falcons fan Henry Ison has been selected as 2021 NFL Fan of The Year.
According to the team's website, Ison has attended Falcons games for over 50 years, including traveling to road games all over the country. He was selected out of 35,000 entries by a panel of judges that included NFL executives, players and celebrities and beat out 31 other finalists to be named 2021 NFL Fan of The Year.
"A dedicated fan for 50 years," the team posted on Twitter. "Congratulations to our American Family Insurance Fan of the Year Henry Ison."
Ison was notified that he was named 2021 NFL Fan of The Year personally by Falcons Owner and Chairman Arthur Blank who sent him a congratulatory video.
A Vietnam veteran and community activist, Ison owns a local recycling brokerage company and has been nicknamed "The Coach" by his family.
As NFL Fan of the Year, Ison received two tickets to Super Bowl LVI and had an opportunity to attend Q&A sessions with NFL executives and special NFL events. He received congratulatory videos from team president Rich McKay and team legends Warrick Dunn, Jessie Tuggle, Michael Turner, Michael Vick and Roddy White.
