The Atlanta Falcons have hired former Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace.
"Former Bears GM Ryan Pace joins Falcons scouting staff," the team posted to Twitter.
Pace will serve as a senior personnel executive on General Manager Terry Fontenot's staff, along with Ruston Webster and Phil Emery, the Falcons. The pair have history from their days with the New Orleans Saints, where they spent 13 seasons.
Pace was named executive of the year by Sporting News in 2018, when the Bears made the postseason for the first time since 2010.
In addition to serving as a general manager, Pace also has experience in pro scouting and as a director of player personnel.
The Falcons finished the 2021 season with seven wins and 10 losses and did not make the playoffs, according to the website Pro Football Reference. The last time the team made the playoffs was in 2017. They have been to the Super Bowl twice, but have yet to take home a victory.
