2020-21 NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario has re-signed with the Atlanta Braves on a two-year, $18 million contract. Rosario, a left-fielder, fills the need for a middle-of-the-line-up, left-handed hitting outfielder, MLB said in a March 16 report. With this move, the defending World Series champions hope to be one step closer to securing the title once again this year.
"He’s baaaaaaack," the team posted on Twitter Wednesday.
According to MLB, Rosario's two-year deal also includes a club option for 2024. This comes as the left fielder hit .383 against the Dodgers in the NCLS, going 14-for-25 with three homers in six games, the report states.
An additional 13 homers hit by Rosario during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season put the Braves fan-favorite on a 35-homer pace, MLB reports. The contract, signed by Rosario this week, makes him a high contender in the league for years to come, boasting a $9 million contract in each of the next two seasons.
