Former Vice President Mike Pence was the featured speaker at recent rally in support of Gov. Brian Kemp., according to a Fox News report.

Kemp has several opponents in the Republican primary, including former U.S. Sen. David Perdue, who is supported by former President Donald Trump.

"Brian Kemp is my friend, a man dedicated to faith, family and the people of Georgia," Pence said in a statement. "I am proud to offer my full support for four more years of Brian Kemp as governor of the great state of Georgia!"

Trump, who has repeatedly blamed Kemp for his loss in Georgia during the 2020 election, had attempted to persuade Pence into reversing the results, despite Pence's public declaration that he never had the ability or capacity to do so.

"President Trump obviously is very famous for going after people he feels betrayed him and so Vice President Pence is on that list," Phil Kent, a panelist on FOX 5's The Georgia Gang stated.

Kent also stated that campaigns often use support from prominent figures to increase voting participation.

Martha Zoller, another panelist, stated that the primaries would reveal the level of Trump's current political influence.
