Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith has high expectations for tight end Kyle Pitts in his second season, after having an excellent rookie season.
In a recent report by AtantaFaclons.com, Smith reiterated the sentiment that Pitts is just scratching the surface.
"With all these rookies, everything's new to them," Smith said in the report. "New environment, new team, new staff and new terminology. As you've seen with Kyle, as he progressed through last season – I've said this many times – he's just scratching the surface. You see a different player and mindset."
A rookie out of the University of Florida in 2021, Pitts stood out as the prize of the rookie class at the tight end position, earning an All-Pro selection, the report said. Playing in all 17 games last season, he racked up 1,000-plus receiving yards.
Pitts is joined in the Falcons' tight end rotation by Anthony Firkser and rookie John FitzPatrick, the report said.
