Paint Gwinnett Pink is back Oct. 15

Registration is now open for the 2022 Northside Hospital Paint Gwinnett Pink 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer. The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 a.m. at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Now in its seventh year, Paint Gwinnett Pink is held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and supports breast cancer programs at Northside Hospital Gwinnett and Northside Hospital Duluth. Money raised provides improved access to:

  • Cutting-edge imaging technology for earlier diagnosis.
  • Mammograms.
  • Transportation and other assistance needed for cancer treatments.
The 2022 event theme of “Seeing Beyond” was chosen to celebrate and highlight the fundraising goal to secure new 3D mammography technology at the two hospitals. These advanced digital breast tomosynthesis machines will help doctors achieve success in early detection of breast cancer.

“We are thrilled to be joining together once again to celebrate and support the breast cancer community,” said Jennifer Griffin, Paint Gwinnett Pink event director and co-founder of Paint Gwinnett Pink. “This year, we are going bigger and better – celebrating being back together again.”

“This year we are bringing the community together to celebrate all things PINK,” said Stephanie Hunt, Paint Gwinnett Pink 2022 chair. “There will be something for everyone – kids and adults alike. It’s time for us to gather as a community, have some fun, and raise funds for a great cause.”

Registration for the 2022 Paint Gwinnett Pink 5K Walk/Run is $30 and includes a long-sleeved T-shirt. A finisher’s medal will be given to all participants who finish the course. In addition, awards will go to the overall female and male finishers, as well as the top three female and male winners in all age groups (10 and under to 70 and over in five-year increments).

Participants will enjoy socially distanced festivities on race day. Should the in-person 5K need to be canceled, all 5K registrations will transition to a virtual run, and registrants will pick up their race packet and information at packet pick-up.
