Claude Parks Road is closed to thru traffic due to a washout at Bull Creek near the road’s intersection with Jake Kemp Road.
According to Hall County Public Works Director Srikanth Yamala, the existing corrugated metal pipe below the roadway washed away.
“We have already reached out to an on-call contractor to replace the metal pipe with a three-box culvert, rectifying the issue; however, that work may take approximately one month to complete,” Yamala said. “We appreciate the public’s patience as we work to address the issue as quickly as possible.”
Motorists are advised to take Jake Kemp or Wade Whelchel roads to Ben Parks Road as a detour. Detour signs have been placed in the area, and a map of the detour route has been added to the homepage of the Hall County website, hallcounty.org.
