A preliminary hearing was held last week at the Gwinnett County jail for two teen suspects accused of gunning down Georgia teen football star Elijah DeWitt in the mall parking lot of a Dave and Busters.

The two suspects, 18-year-old Kemare Bryan and 19-year-old Chandler Richardson, both from Lawrenceville, Ga., were first brought in front of a judge in October; a recent report by FOX 5 Atlanta said.

"You’re going to be here for a while," a judge told each defendant at the time. This comes as a superior court judge is the only one able to set bond on the felony charges, meaning the suspects will need to wait until another hearing is set.

Bryan and Richardson were taken into custody by police in South Carolina wearing the same clothes they wore on the day of the deadly shooting, the FOX 5 report said.

DeWitt was a star wide receiver on the Jefferson High School football team, the report said. He was known as Eazy E, a nickname he earned from former NFL legend and star quarterback Cam Newton after he saw him in action on the field.

After initially stating the motive in the shooting remained under investigation, authorities now say, "It appears that the suspects and the victim were familiar with each other, and when they encountered each other in the parking lot, an altercation took place and then the shooting."
