Allen Tayeh, Divorce attorney killed by husband of client said police have charged the husband of woman with killing her divorce attorney and leaving his burning in his burning Lawrenceville office on Dec 9th.

"The suspect that was detained actually had injuries that were consistent with being in or near the fire, he had burns on the pants, singed hair," Lawrenceville police Lt. Jake Parker said.

Police took 65-year-old Allen Tayeh into custody on murder and arson charges, adding when officers arrived, they found him holding a pistol. The family of the victim has since indicated he suffered several gunshot wounds to the body.

At the time of the attack, fallen attorney Doug Lewis was representing Allen Tayeh's wife in ongoing divorce proceedings and the couple was scheduled to appear in court for another hearing just a few days after the violence took place.

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services went to the office on Stone Mountain Street to put out the fire while police responded to a report of a fire at a business, with Tayeh later being taken into custody.

“It’s pretty brazen,” Parker said in comments reported by NBC affiliate WXIA. “It’s kind of out of the blue.”

As for the firearm Tayeh had, Parker described it as "a revolver that had spent cartridges in the cylinders," adding that there was a scent of gasoline around the area and him, as well, WXIA said.
