Sen. Clint Dixon celebrates the passage of Senate Bill 421 through the Georgia General Assembly, a measure aimed at enhancing penalties for transmitting a false public alarm and other offenses. Sen. Dixon expressed his satisfaction with the bill's progress, saying, “I’m pleased that this bill has successfully passed through the Georgia General Assembly. When the 2024 Legislative Session began, I aimed to enact anti-swatting legislation, spurred by swatting calls that impacted a number of elected officials, including myself."
Sen. Dixon further emphasized the importance of the bill in combating crimes such as 'swatting' and drive-by shootings, stating, “I believe this bill will play a vital role in combating crimes such as ‘swatting’ and drive-by shootings." He extended his gratitude to Rep. Max Reeves for carrying the measure in the House and to his colleagues for standing against threats to public safety.
With the passage of SB 421, Sen. Dixon highlighted the progress made towards enhancing public safety in Georgia, aiming to make the state a safer place to live and raise a family. Sen.
