Four students from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) achieved significant recognition at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference held in Orlando, Florida. The event saw participation from over 18,000 attendees, including 12,000 students representing nearly 2,100 schools across 43 U.S. states and territories as well as two countries. In addition to participating in workshops, students competed for $120,000 in cash prizes through various business-related events. They also engaged with representatives from more than 100 colleges, universities, and employers such as Men’s Wearhouse, National Geographic Learning/Cengage, PNC Bank, and the United States Armed Forces.

The recognized GCPS students are:

From Meadowcreek High School:

- Juan Ramos-Pena: Second Place in Graphic Design

- Nahawand Sedran: Second Place in Graphic Design

From North Gwinnett High School:

- Irene Oh: First Place in Introduction to FBLA

- Wendy Wang: Second Place in Public Service Announcement

North Gwinnett High School Principal Nathan Ballantine expressed pride in the achievements of his students by stating, “We are so proud of our North Gwinnett students who have demonstrated their college and career readiness skills at the FBLA national level to win these top honors.” He added that this success highlights how their education prepares them for future endeavors beyond the classroom.

During the conference, middle and high school participants had the opportunity to hear from Shawn D. Nelson, founder and CEO of Lovesac, who shared his entrepreneurial experiences. College attendees received career guidance from Gorick Ng, a Wall Street Journal bestselling author and career adviser at Harvard University.
