Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Parent Mentors are inviting parents of students receiving special education services to attend a presentation titled "Starting the School Year on a Positive Note." The event is scheduled for Thursday, August 22. Dawn Albanese from the GCPS Special Education Department will discuss topics such as family engagement, effective communication, daily routines, self-determination, record keeping, and self-care.
Parents have the option to participate in either an in-person session or a virtual session. The in-person session will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center located at 437 Old Peachtree Road, NW, Suwanee, GA 30024. The virtual session via Zoom is set for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Interested participants need to register for their preferred session and will receive a confirmation email with details on joining the meeting after registration.
