Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is organizing a 5K race titled "Book it for the Bus" on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The event will take place at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center in Suwanee, Georgia. This initiative aims to raise funds for the Book Mobile program, which provides books to students.
The schedule for the day includes packet pick-up and registration starting at 7:00 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 8:00 a.m., and concluding with a Fun Run at 9:00 a.m. Registration fees vary depending on the date of registration and type of participation, with early bird rates available until August 29.
Participants can collect their race day t-shirts either during packet pick-up on November 1 or at the registration table on race day. The event will also feature music, door prizes, awards, and snacks. Trophies will be awarded to top overall male and female winners as well as masters winners. Medals will be distributed across various age categories.
The school with the highest number of participants will receive a visit from the Book Mobile. Although the Fun Run is not timed, participants will still receive shirts and medals.
