Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Parent Mentors are inviting parents of students receiving special education services to a presentation titled “Locating and Understanding Resources within the Community.” The event will take place on Tuesday, April 23. Dawn Albanese, a GCPS Parent Mentor, will guide parents through various community resources available to them. These resources include Family Support Funding, the NOW/COMP Medicaid Waiver, the Katie Beckett Deeming Waiver, PeachCare for Kids, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Parents have the option to attend either an in-person session or join virtually via Zoom. The in-person session is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center located at 437 Old Peachtree Road NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 in Building 200, Central Gwinnett Room 2.111.

For those preferring to attend virtually, the Zoom session will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Upon registration for either session, participants will receive confirmation emails with details on how to join.

Questions regarding the event can be directed to Dawn Albanese at dawn.albanese@gcpsk12.org or by calling 678-301-7212.

Interpretation services are available upon request if made at least one week before the meeting date. Spanish interpretation has already been arranged.
