Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) will host its annual Book Mobile 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, May 4, at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center in Suwanee, Georgia. The event aims to raise funds for purchasing new books for the Book Mobile program, which distributes books to students.

The schedule for the day begins with packet pick-up and registration at 7:00 a.m., followed by the start of the 5K race at 8:00 a.m. The Fun Run is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. Registration fees for the Book Mobile 5K are $35 through April 19, increasing to $40 from April 20 to May 3. A family discount of $5 per registrant is available for groups of four or more participants. The Fun Run costs $18, with a price increase to $20 after April 19. Participants can also opt for a Virtual 5K experience at $40, which includes shirt shipping; this fee rises to $45 after April 19.

The event promises additional activities such as music, door prizes, awards, and snacks. Participants will receive shirts, and trophies will be awarded to the top overall male and female winners as well as masters (50 and over) male and female winners. Medals will be given to the top three male and female runners in five-year increment age group categories. Additionally, all runners aged 18 and under will receive a free book.

Incentives include a visit from the Book Mobile for the school with the most participants. Notably, the Fun Run is not timed.
