Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is preparing for the 2024-2025 school year with registration details for its special schools. The district emphasizes its commitment to offering students unique learning experiences.
The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) will begin the lottery registration process on November 1, 2023, for current eighth-grade students. The lottery drawing is set for January 30, 2024. Informational meetings are scheduled at GSMST on November 14, December 12, and a make-up session on January 11.
Maxwell High School of Technology offers half-day programs in various fields. Applications open on January 8, 2024. An Open House event is planned for February 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with lottery preparations occurring in late February.
Grayson Technical Education Program also provides hands-on experience through half-day programs. Its application process starts in January 2024, with an Open House scheduled for February 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
New Life Academy of Excellence will have online applications available during open enrollment from December 4, 2023, to January 31, 2024. A public lottery will occur on February 7 or a selected GCPS date.
Gwinnett Online Campus offers ongoing enrollment for K-12 students interested in virtual learning options. A Virtual Overview Session is planned for May 13 at noon.
The School of the Arts at Central Gwinnett High School invites applications from students passionate about the arts. Current eighth graders can apply for either the Conservatory Program or the Fellows Program by November 26. Information sessions and workshops are scheduled for November and auditions in early January.
Acceptance notifications across programs are expected in mid-January and depend on finalized grades by June.
