Gwinnett County public schools have outperformed state averages in the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), according to recent data. The CCRPI is a tool used by Georgia to measure how effectively schools, districts, and the state are helping students meet academic goals. It includes five components: Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Gaps, Readiness, and Graduation Rate.

The Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) district scores for elementary and middle schools were higher than the state averages in Content Mastery, Progress, and Readiness. High school district scores surpassed state averages in Content Mastery and Progress.

Due to a permanent addendum from the U.S. Department of Education implemented this year, the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) no longer calculates an overall CCRPI score for schools or districts. According to GaDOE, “The change was made to increase transparency and provide a more complete picture of school performance, ensuring that challenges and opportunities are not hidden behind a single score.” Additionally, pandemic-related data limitations prevented calculating Progress and Closing Gaps scores in 2022. Changes in calculation methods also mean that comparisons between prior years' Readiness scores and 2023's scores are deemed inappropriate.

A more detailed presentation of CCRPI results for GCPS will be shared with the Board during their January Work Session.
