Gwinnett BOE appoints new principal for Anderson-Livsey Elementary

At a business meeting held on November 16, 2023, the Gwinnett County Board of Education announced the appointment of Christopher S. Jackson as the new principal of Anderson-Livsey Elementary School. Jackson will take over from Joanne Vigilant, who has resigned.

Jackson has been serving as the Assistant Principal at Anderson-Livsey Elementary since 2020. His previous experience includes teaching fourth grade at McKendree Elementary School during the 2019-2020 school year and fifth grade at Nesbit Elementary School from 2010 to 2013.

Before his roles in Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), Jackson taught fourth grade at Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools in Udhailiyah, Saudi Arabia, from 2016 to 2019. He also worked as a third-grade teacher with Gems Education in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, between 2013 and 2016.

His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Paine College and a Master’s degree in Teaching from Mercer University Tift College of Education. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Quality-Plus Leader Academy's Aspiring Leader Program, Cohort 12, completed in 2021.
