More than a dozen schools in Gwinnett County have been recognized by the College Board as AP® School Honor Roll Schools. This recognition highlights schools across the nation whose Advanced Placement (AP) programs deliver results for students while expanding access to challenging academic opportunities.

Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts acknowledged the dedication of students and teachers in achieving this honor. “I'm incredibly proud of our 14 GCPS schools recognized on the AP® School Honor Roll by the College Board,” said Dr. Watts. “These honors reflect our commitment to preparing our students for success beyond high school by broadening access to rigorous academic opportunities and empowering them to earn college credit. These achievements underscore the dedication that our teachers, students, and families put forth in order to foster a strong and positive college-going culture.”

The honorees from GCPS are among 5,061 schools nationwide. The AP School Honor Roll categorizes schools into four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Schools on this honor roll may also receive the AP Access Award, which acknowledges those demonstrating effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.

To be listed on the AP School Honor Roll, a school must be located within the United States or Canada and meet specific criteria based on research linking AP performance with college outcomes:

- College Culture: At least 40% of graduating students took one or more AP Exams.

- College Credit: At least 25% scored a 3 or higher on an AP Exam.

- College Optimization: At least 2% took five or more AP Exams during high school, including at least one exam in grades nine or ten.

The recognized schools include Brookwood HS (Silver), Collins Hill HS (Bronze with Access), Dacula HS (Bronze), Grayson HS (Bronze with Access), Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (Platinum with Access), Lanier HS (Bronze with Access), McClure Health Science HS (Gold with Access), Mill Creek HS (Bronze), Norcross HS (Bronze), North Gwinnett HS (Gold with Access), Parkview HS (Silver), Paul Duke STEM HS (Silver), Peachtree Ridge HS (Silver with Access), and Seckinger HS (Silver with Access).

By balancing both access and achievement, the AP® School Honor Roll acknowledges schools guiding students toward readiness for college and careers without overwhelming them.
