John Pittman, a senior at Discovery High School, has been awarded the title of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) 2025 Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Student of the Year. The announcement was made during the CTAE award ceremony held on February 25, 2025. This event celebrates students' accomplishments in CTAE courses throughout their high school years.
A total of 26 students were selected from among high-performing GCPS high school students for this recognition. Jabari Morrison from Shiloh High School was named first runner-up, while Landon Sturgeon from Mountain View High School secured the position of second runner-up.

Nominees were required to provide a resume, a recommendation letter by their nominating teacher, details on participation in a Career and Technical Student Organization, community service involvement, and an essay. The finalists underwent interviews conducted by a panel comprising business and industry leaders.
