The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced May 1 that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Tanaka Chikerema, a Zimbabwean national convicted of enticing a child for indecent purposes and child molestation in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
Chikerema was included in a DHS announcement about ICE arrests involving individuals charged with or convicted of crimes in the United States. DHS said nearly 70 percent of ICE arrests involve noncitizens who are charged with or convicted of crimes in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
DHS said Chikerema was convicted of enticing a child for indecent purposes and child molestation in Gwinnett County, Georgia, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Chikerema was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail in November 2020 in a case involving child molestation, according to The Georgia Gazette.
