The Atlanta Braves' first-base coach, Eric Young Sr., appears to be just as proud of his youngest son starring in the Netflix original series "Cobra Kai" as he is of the World Series title the Braves captured in November.

Dallas Young, 15, plays the character Kenny Payne in the fourth season of "Cobra Kai." As a child, Dallas was a popular fixture around the ballpark when he stood in his father's shadow, MLB.com reported. Now Eric Young Sr. might one day be living in his son's shadow as Dallas is earning praise for his on-screen performance.

"As a father, I love the fact he's doing something he genuinely loves and has a passion for," Eric Young Sr. told MLB.com. "He's not doing it just for the money. He's doing it because he loves it and he wants to be the best. I'll always remember the one goal he had. He said, 'Daddy, one day we're going to walk the red carpet together.'"

Despite his young age, Dallas Young is an accomplished actor. Before landing his role in "Cobra Kai," he had a starring role in Nickelodeon's "Cousins for Life" and appeared in shows such as "9-1-1," "Shameless" and "The Fosters," MLB.com reported.

"Cobra Kai," a sequel to the 1980s film "The Karate Kid," has become a worldwide hit, MLB.com reported. Following the fourth season's release, it became one of Netflix's top shows in the U.S.

The fourth season marks Dallas Young's introduction in "Cobra Kai," where he plays a new kid in town who becomes the target of bullying at school, MLB.com reported.

"This show is just phenomenal," Eric Young Sr. told MLB. "Dallas has become an instant star. So, he doesn't need to be holding on to dad's shorts anymore. He's got his own fan club out there. It's been great to see."

"Cobra Kai" is mostly filmed in the Atlanta area, which allows father and son to admire each other's work, MLB.com reported. Eric Young Sr. was often watching his son perform on set, and Dallas Young watched the Braves play up until the World Series. Dallas Young did, however, miss the Braves' victory parade on Nov. 5, as he had already returned to the set to film the fifth season.

"It was so good to have him here to experience the championship run and then to go right into his line of work," Eric Young Sr. said. "You know how he smiles and everything, but when they say action, he turns into that character instantly."
