Gwinnett Chamber hosts annual dinner celebrating community achievements

The Gwinnett Chamber hosted its 77th Annual Dinner on February 7 at the Gas South District, celebrating achievements and recognizing key contributors to the community's prosperity. Sponsored by Northside Hospital, the event highlighted a successful year for the Chamber, which included the reopening of its renovated office space and record member recruitment.

The gathering drew over 900 business and community leaders who came to honor various individuals and organizations. Dr. Mary Kay Murphy was named Citizen of the Year for her dedication to Gwinnett and Metro Atlanta. Junior Achievement of Georgia received the D. Scott Hudgens Humanitarian Award for their efforts in aiding those in need.

Heraeus Quartz N.A. was awarded the James J. Maran International Award for their global contributions. The Public Service Awards were given to Salmaan "Sal" Ajani, Joe Allen, Jennifer Fennell, Council Member Victoria E. Jones, and Rep. Matt Reeves for their service to Gwinnett.

Posthumous honors went to Jay K. Eun, James F. Pack, and William "Bill" Reeves with the R. Wayne Shackleford Legacy Award for their community contributions.

Gwinnett Chamber staff Amanda Petrone and Margaret Phillips were recognized as Membership Development Managers of the Year for their role in driving membership growth in 2024.

Brittany Lowe was named Ambassador of the Year for her work as Community Engagement Coordinator at Rainbow Village.

Wayne H. Mason was appointed Honorary Chairman of the Gwinnett Chamber Board of Directors due to his long-term service on the board.

Nick Masino, President & CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett said, “We would like to congratulate each one of this year’s honorees and thank them for their invaluable service to our business community.”

The evening concluded with a leadership transition as Lanier Levett passed the gavel to newly appointed Board Chair Brad Carr, who emphasized maintaining excellence and innovation moving forward.
