Gwinnett County Public Schools showcases student art in annual Tapestry event

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is showcasing the talents of its young artists through the Tapestry event, running from February 22 to March 21. This annual celebration highlights student artwork at the district's headquarters located at 437 Old Peachtree Rd. NW in Suwanee. Visitors to the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center can view various forms of art, including paintings, drawings, mixed media, and pottery.

The lobby area of the Instructional Support Center will transform into an art gallery featuring pieces by Gwinnett students. The exhibit will rotate artworks by cluster during the event period. Tapestry is accessible to the public during business hours on weekdays and specified weekend hours.

The schedule for building access is as follows: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. It should be noted that no artwork will be displayed on March 2-3.

Exhibit dates are divided into three periods:

- February 22 – February 29: Participating schools include those in Brookwood, Duluth, Grayson, Meadowcreek, North Gwinnett, and Shiloh Clusters along with Grayson Tech, GSMST, and McClure Health and Science High School.

- March 5 – March 11: Displays feature Archer, Berkmar, Collins Hills, Discovery, Mill Creek, Mountain View, Norcross Clusters as well as Give Center West, North Metro Academy of Performing Arts, and Paul Duke STEM High School.

- March 14 – March 21: Artwork from Central Gwinnett, Dacula, Lanier Parkview Peachtree Ridge Seckinger South Gwinnett Clusters alongside Oakland Meadow Gwinnett Online Campus Phoenix High School of the Arts (SOTA).
