Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is calling on parents and community members to join the district’s Sex Education Instructional Resources Review Committee (IRRC). This committee is responsible for evaluating both print and digital instructional materials related to sexual and reproductive health. The feedback gathered from the IRRC, along with teacher reviews, will play a role in deciding which resources will be piloted in the district.
The IRRC for this year is scheduled to meet on Thursday, November 7, at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center in Suwanee. The committee will review instructional resources intended for sex education courses for grades 5 through 9. Interested individuals can learn more about the IRRC and submit their applications online. The deadline for application submission is Sunday, October 6.
