Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Parent Mentors will host a workshop titled "Navigating the Holidays and Avoiding Caretaker Fatigue" on November 14. The event is designed for parents of students receiving special education services in GCPS schools. Dawn Albanese, a parent mentor from the GCPS Special Education Department, will lead the session.

The workshop aims to provide families with tips and strategies to manage school breaks, social gatherings, and holiday traditions while focusing on self-care to prevent caretaker fatigue. It is open to parents of students across all grade levels.

Participants can choose between attending an in-person session from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center in Suwanee, GA, or joining a virtual session via Zoom from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Interpretation services are available upon request if made at least one week before the meeting date. Spanish interpretation has already been arranged.

For further inquiries, contact Dawn Albanese at dawn.albanese@gcpsk12.org or (678) 301-7212.
