Friday, January 10, 2025, will be a Digital Learning Day (DLD) for all students in GCPS. This decision is due to the forecast of rain, snow, and freezing temperatures from Friday morning through Saturday morning.

"If the forecasted storm causes widespread power outages in our county or if Governor Brian Kemp declares a state of emergency, our status on Friday may change to ‘all schools and offices closed.’ We will send an additional notification to families and staff through ParentSquare as needed."

Families should note that there will be no sports, events, activities, or meal deliveries on Friday. Schools and teachers will communicate specific expectations for completing and submitting work during the DLD. Students unable to participate should coordinate with their teachers for alternative assignments. It is important for students to have their district-issued devices at home.

School-based staff will work remotely on January 10, either supporting student learning or engaging in professional development. The Instructional Support Center and other administrative offices will be closed, with central office staff working remotely. Essential staff responsible for building maintenance are encouraged to complete duties by noon if conditions allow.

"We recognize school closures and schedule changes disrupt family schedules. In emergency situations, such as snow and icy weather conditions, the top priority is the safety of students and staff."

For more information about inclement weather procedures or closure details, visit the GCPS website.
