Community partners in Gwinnett County are playing a significant role in enhancing student attendance and academic success within the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). These partnerships unite schools, local organizations, businesses, and volunteers to address challenges related to attendance and foster a supportive educational environment.

The GCPS Foundation collaborates with various organizations to provide resources that aid student attendance and engagement. Through these partnerships, scholarships, school supplies, and other essential resources are offered to students and families in need.

The Community-Based Mentoring Program connects students with volunteer mentors who offer guidance and support. "Mentors help students develop positive attendance habits and overcome challenges that may impact their ability to attend school regularly," according to the program's description.

Transportation has been identified as a significant barrier to consistent school attendance. To tackle this issue, GCPS works with community partners to provide transportation solutions for students facing difficulties in getting to school.

Family engagement initiatives are another focus area where community partners collaborate with schools. Workshops, family nights, and other events aim to educate parents about the importance of regular attendance and how they can support their children's education.

Health issues can lead to absenteeism; hence, community partners including local healthcare providers offer health and wellness programs. These programs provide access to medical care, mental health services, and nutrition programs aimed at keeping students healthy and attending school.

"The collaborative efforts of community partners in Gwinnett County are essential in promoting regular school attendance," states the initiative overview. By addressing barriers and providing comprehensive support, these partnerships contribute significantly towards creating an educational environment where every student can achieve their full potential.

A variety of community resources are available for students and families needing assistance. While these resources are provided for informational purposes only by GCPS without endorsement or approval guarantees on accuracy or completeness, they remain accessible for those who choose to utilize them at their discretion.
