Twenty-one educators from Gwinnett County Public Schools have received grants of up to $2,000 each from Jackson Electric Membership Corporation's Bright Ideas Grant. The initiative is designed to support innovative classroom projects by middle school teachers in grades 6-8. Eligible teachers can submit proposals that provide creative learning experiences, defined goals and objectives, and ongoing classroom applications.

The awarded educators and their projects include Abby Paul from Berkmar Middle School for "Tracking Heat Transfer with Digital Precision," Ashley Johnson from Coleman Middle School for "Collaborative Logos: Music Technology and Visual Arts," and Kayoung Mullins also from Coleman Middle School for "Coding Robotics Dogs." Other recipients include Yolanda Rivera-Suarez from Creekland Middle School for "Applying Physical Science using Sensors" and Marissa Brown from Dacula Middle School for "Electromagnetic Force and Motion."

Jackson EMC has been involved with community initiatives since 1938, aiming to improve electricity quality in Northeast Georgia. Their mission includes exceeding expectations through various youth-focused programs such as the Washington Youth Tour and sponsorships with the Georgia High School Association.
