Four students from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) have been recognized as 2024 Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). The honored students are Vanessa Ching and Vinh Pham from Brookwood High School, Afeefa Anwer from McClure Health Science High School, and Margaret Robinson from North Gwinnett High School. They are among 177 graduating seniors in Georgia to receive this distinction, which includes a seal for their diplomas upon graduation. The program acknowledges high school seniors who excel in both academics and community involvement.

"Congratulations to these fantastic students," said GCPS Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts. "It is so exciting to see our students recognized at the state level for achieving excellence in their school and community. This recognition is a testament to their years of hard and heart work, and Team GCPS is so proud of them. I cannot wait to see how they will continue to be great after graduation, and I look forward to their continued contributions to our Gwinnett community for many years to come."

Georgia Scholars are noted for carrying challenging course loads throughout high school, excelling academically, participating successfully in interscholastic events within schools and communities, and taking on leadership roles in extracurricular activities.

Further details about the Georgia Scholars program can be found on the GaDOE website.
