During its meeting on February 20, 2025, the Gwinnett County Board of Education approved the appointment of a new principal for Ivy Creek Elementary School. Terica E. Peek has been named to this role. Peek is currently serving as an Assistant Principal at Ivy Creek Elementary and will replace Melanie Terris, who is retiring.
Peek's career in education includes roles as an Assistant Principal at Lawrenceville Elementary from 2018 to 2022 and a teacher at Gwin Oaks Elementary from 2014 to 2018. Before joining Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), she taught in Walton County Public Schools from 2005 to 2014.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia. Additionally, Peek completed the Quality-Plus Leader Academy's Aspiring Leader Program in 2018 and the Aspiring Principal Program in 2025.
