Gwinnett Online Campus (GOC) has been recognized as a 2024 Brightspace Excellence Award Winner. This award acknowledges educators who have utilized the Brightspace platform to create innovative and collaborative learning experiences or significantly impact learning outcomes. D2L, the educational technology company behind Brightspace, selected GOC for its outstanding student engagement, faculty efficiency, and communication results.

Principal Dr. Christopher Ray expressed his pride in receiving the award: “We are thrilled and honored to receive the 2024 Brightspace Excellence Award, a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty and students at Gwinnett Online Campus,” he stated. He emphasized that this recognition underscores their commitment to providing effective online education and preparing students for success in a changing world. Dr. Ray also highlighted the collaboration within the school community as a factor in their achievements.

GOC has used the flexibility of the Brightspace platform to develop a blended instructional model that allows teachers to give individual attention to each student. The school implemented interactive interfaces enabling students to access content through pictures instead of lists, enhancing engagement with educational material. GOC's focus on equity and accessibility ensures students receive necessary support, earning praise from both students and parents.
