Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) has been recognized as one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for the 17th consecutive year. This award acknowledges exceptional efforts by educators, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders in integrating music education into a comprehensive educational experience. The designation is given to districts and schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to providing access to music education.

David DuBose, GCPS Director of Fine Arts, commented on this achievement: “The continued recognition of being named one of the 'Best Communities for Music Education' in the country is a reflection on our stakeholders and staff for ensuring that quality opportunities exist for all of our students and that the fine arts are supported with quality facilities, equipment, and funding.”

The BCME program assesses schools and districts based on several criteria including funding, staffing with highly qualified teachers, adherence to standards, community support, participation levels, and access to music instruction. The NAMM Foundation conducts these evaluations with assistance from researchers at The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
